Sika stag couched.

This Japanese Sika stag is couched, resting from the exertions of the rut. The wound from a fight is clearly visible on his flank, and judging by the size of his antlers he wasn't the winner, not this year anyway. The oak leaf on his chest could almost be a 'mentioned in dispatches'.
